The 8 best podcasts for doctors and healthcare providers

Stay current with happenings in healthcare and business with these informative podcasts for doctors.

medical podcasts

Face it, doc, you’re busy. Busy caring for patients, busy with miscellaneous business tasks, with continuing medical education and in your personal life. We don’t need to tell you that it can be tough to quickly get all of the information you need to also feel well informed.

Podcasts are a good solution for swamped professionals to stay up-to-date on industry happenings and even learn a thing or two about how to grow a healthcare practice. Here, we’ve listed nine of the best podcasts for doctors to listen to along their commute, or at the gym or home.

1. 2 Docs Talk

In 2 Docs Talk, hosts Kendall Britt, MD, and Amy Rogers, MD, have the conversations they wish they could have with their patients but often don’t have the time for. They know how doctors feel when they inevitably find themselves drowning in documents, coding, and billing instead of getting to focus on the patient.

Britt, an internist, and Rogers, a physician turned medical writer, sat down once a week for a 15-minute “appointment” to discuss the doctor-patient relationship and hot button medical topics, such as medical marijuana, and vaccines.

Although they haven’t released an episode since March 2020, the takeaways in the 136 episodes that have been released are invaluable to practicing physicians and healthcare workers everywhere.

2. The #HCBiz Show!

Because healthcare is such a complex industry, The #HCBiz Show! hosts Don Lee and Shahid Shah take the approach that you can’t “just innovate.” In order to innovate, you must know how to run well first. In each episode, they discuss the dynamics of technology, policy, administration, and psychology — plus how to align this with your business incentives. Their conversations help you create space for innovation in healthcare through technology and workflow.

The #HCBiz Show! evolved from Twitter chats to a YouTube Live program and now exists as a podcast, a perfect easy-to-consume medium for busy healthcare professionals interested in business and marketing for doctors.

Listen in to receive weekly legislative updates on benefits developments on the Hill in just less than 20 minutes.
